Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions about Hamtrax.
Is Hamtrax free?
Yes. Hamtrax is free to use. Create an account and you have access to the full toolkit -- logging, live activity, maps, awards tracking, and more.
What platforms does Hamtrax run on?
Hamtrax is available on three platforms:
- Web at hamtrax.com
- iOS via the App Store
- Android via Google Play
Your account and data sync across all of them, so you can log a contact on your phone in the field and review it on your desktop later.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Hamtrax is built offline-first. QSOs you log are saved locally on your device and automatically synced to the cloud when you're back online. Activity data you've previously loaded is cached so you can browse spots and maps even without a connection.
Offline mode makes Hamtrax especially useful for portable operations -- POTA activations, SOTA summits, or anywhere cell service is spotty.
How do I import my existing log?
Hamtrax supports three import formats:
ADIF-- The standard ham radio log format. Works with exports from nearly every logging program.CSV-- Comma-separated value files with your QSO data.Cabrillo-- The standard contest log format.
Open the Log tab, tap the Import button, and select your file. Hamtrax will parse it and add the contacts to your logbook.
For step-by-step instructions, see Importing Your Log.
How do I connect with LoTW or QRZ?
Hamtrax supports integrations with popular ham radio services. You can configure these from the Settings tab. For details on what's available and how to set them up, see the Logging Overview.
Can I use Hamtrax for contests?
Hamtrax is not a live contest logger -- it's not designed for real-time contest operation. However, you can import your contest logs after the fact using the Cabrillo format to keep all your contacts in one place.
If you use a dedicated contest logger like N1MM or N3FJP, just export a Cabrillo or ADIF file when you're done and import it into Hamtrax.
How do I report a bug or request a feature?
Open the Settings tab and tap Send Feedback. This launches the in-app feedback tool where you can describe the issue or suggestion. Screenshots and logs are attached automatically to help the team investigate.
If the app is crashing on launch and you can't reach Settings, email support directly at the address listed on hamtrax.com.
