Band Plan

The Band Plan tool gives you a quick, visual reference for frequency allocations across the amateur radio bands. Whether you are tuning around looking for activity or planning an activation, the band plan shows you exactly which frequencies are designated for which modes.

Opening the Band Plan

  1. Tap the Tools icon in the bottom navigation bar.
  2. Select Band Plan from the tools list.

Choosing Your Band Plan

The tool supports multiple regulatory agencies so you see the allocations that apply to your region:

AgencyRegion
FCC -- United StatesIARU Region 2
ISED / RAC -- CanadaIARU Region 2
IARU Region 1 -- Europe & AfricaIARU Region 1
ACMA -- AustraliaIARU Region 3

Use the Agency dropdown at the top of the tool to switch between band plans.

Filtering by License Class

For the FCC band plan, you can filter by license class -- Extra, General, or Technician -- to see only the segments you are authorized to use. Select your class from the License dropdown.

tip

Hamtrax automatically detects your license class from your callsign lookup and selects it for you. You can override this at any time.

Use the Band dropdown to jump between bands. The tool covers HF (160m through 10m), VHF (6m, 2m), and UHF (70cm). Each band displays a visual chart of frequency segments color-coded by mode:

  • CW -- purple
  • SSB/USB/LSB -- pink
  • Digital -- red
  • FM -- orange
  • Mixed -- amber
  • ATV/Satellite -- yellow

Frequency labels appear alongside each segment so you can see the exact start and end frequencies at a glance.
