Activity Discovery

The Activity tab is your discovery hub for everything happening on the air right now. Whether you're hunting POTA activations, tracking satellites, or scanning DX spots, this is where you'll find it all in one place.

View Modes

Hamtrax gives you three ways to explore activity:

  1. 2D Map -- A flat map view with pins and clusters showing activity locations. Pan, zoom, and tap any pin for details. Best for regional exploration.
  2. 3D Globe -- A rotatable globe view for visualizing worldwide activity at a glance. Great for seeing propagation patterns and global distribution.
  3. Stacked List -- A scrollable list of all active spots, sorted by time. Best when you want to scan through activity quickly without a map.

Switch between views using the view toggle in the top corner of the Activity tab.

Activity Modes

Use the Activity Mode dropdown to focus on a specific type of activity:

  • Parks on the Air (POTA) -- Live park activations across 15,000+ parks
  • Summits on the Air (SOTA) -- Mountain-top activations with point values
  • World Wide Flora & Fauna (WWFF) -- Nature reserve activations worldwide
  • DX Cluster -- Real-time DX spots from the global cluster network
  • Reverse Beacon Network (RBN) -- Automated CW and digital spotting
  • Satellites -- Amateur satellite tracking with pass predictions
  • Repeaters -- Local repeater stations on the map
  • Nets -- Scheduled on-air net gatherings
  • PSK Reporter -- Digital mode reception reports

Filtering

Every activity mode has its own set of filters. Tap the Filter button to narrow results by band, mode, region, and more. Active filters are indicated by a badge count on the filter button.

tip

Combine filters across dimensions for precision. For example, filter POTA spots to show only CW activations on 20m in your state.

Real-Time Updates

Activity data refreshes automatically in the background. Spots, activations, and satellite positions update without you needing to reload. A subtle animation plays when new spots arrive.

info

Data freshness varies by source. POTA and SOTA spots update every few minutes. DX Cluster and RBN spots stream in near real-time.
