PSK Reporter

The PSK Reporter tool answers one narrow question: is my FT8 signal getting out? It searches recent reception reports for your callsign, plots the receiving stations on a world map, and keeps every returned report in a newest-first list.

Open Tools → PSK Reporter after signing in. Hamtrax fills in the callsign on your account and checks the previous 30 minutes automatically. You can enter a portable, club, or special-event callsign instead and press Check; that override lasts only until you leave the page.

Reading the Result​

  • Heard recently means at least one receiver reported your FT8 transmission.
  • Each row shows the receiver, age, band, frequency, and signal-to-noise ratio.
  • The map shows receiver locations only. A report without usable location data stays in the list and is marked Location unavailable.
  • Selecting a report highlights its receiving station on the map.

An empty result says No new FT8 reports yet. It does not prove that your signal failed: PSK Reporter can take a few minutes to publish a reception, and no station may have been monitoring your band at that moment.

Refresh Timing​

PSK Reporter asks applications not to retrieve data more often than every five minutes. Hamtrax shows when Refresh becomes available instead of repeatedly querying the service. Make an FT8 transmission, wait for reporting to catch up, then refresh the page's snapshot.

If the network or provider cannot be reached, Hamtrax says the check is inconclusive. A provider error is never presented as evidence that your signal was not heard.

Data and Privacy​

Reception data comes from PSK Reporter. The callsign you check is sent only to the provider gateway needed for the search. Hamtrax does not save an edited callsign to your account, preferences, URL, or analytics.
