Friends
Adding friends on Hamtrax lets you stay connected with the operators you enjoy working. You'll see their activity in your feed, compare your stats side by side, and be able to message them directly.
Sending a Friend Request
- Tap the Search icon or navigate to the Community tab.
- Search for an operator by callsign.
- Open their profile and tap Add Friend.
- A friend request is sent to the other operator. You'll be connected once they accept.

If you've just worked someone on the air, search for their callsign right after logging the QSO. It's the easiest time to remember to connect.
Managing Friend Requests
When someone sends you a friend request, you'll see a notification on the Community tab.
- Open the Friend Requests section.
- Tap Accept to add them as a friend, or Decline to dismiss the request.

What You Get With Friends
Once connected, you and your friend unlock several features:
- Feed activity -- Your friend's QSOs and milestones appear in your personalized feed.
- Stat comparison -- Visit a friend's profile to compare band activity, modes, and total QSOs side by side.
- Direct messaging -- Send messages to coordinate on-air meetups or just chat about radio. See Messaging for details.
Muting a Friend
If a friend is particularly active and you want to reduce their presence in your feed without removing them, you can mute their activity.
- Open your friend's profile.
- Tap the More menu.
- Select Mute Activity.
Muted friends stay in your friends list and can still message you. Their posts just won't appear in your feed until you unmute them.
Muting is silent -- the other person is not notified when you mute or unmute them.
Removing a Friend
- Open your friend's profile.
- Tap the More menu and select Remove Friend.
Removing a friend is mutual -- they'll also be removed from your friends list, and you'll no longer appear in each other's feeds.
